firms. Stephen F. Venuti of Finger Lakes Properties and John P. Parrott of

How Coldwell Banker started:
The Coldwell Banker organization began in
1906-the year an earthquake and subsequent fire devastated San Francisco.
Unfortunately, at that time it wasn't hard to find unscrupulous "real
estate" operators taking advantage of victims' hardships. A young man
named Colbert Coldwell, however, resolved to counter this trend by
creating a real estate company that focused on ethics and professionalism,
while placing the needs of his clients above all else. In 1913, Colbert
Coldwell and Benjamin Arthur Banker, two dynamic real estate men, joined
forces. Together, creating a real estate name synonymous with trust, their
association formed the beginnings of one of the nation's largest, most
successful real estate companies: Coldwell Banker.
